The Sentry Paper-Lake Providence, La. May 2, 1901
  At a mass meeting held last Thursday April 25th for the purpose of selecting 
and nominating a ticket for Mayor, Marshal, Secretary, Treasurer and five 
Aldermen, the following ticket was nominated; For Mayor, G.M. Franklin; for 
Marshall, D.F. Peck, Secretary, W.H. Fisher; Treasurer, Yancey Bell, and to 
be  members of the Board of Alderman, C.R. Egelly, J.W. Pittman, C.F. Davis, 
W.S. Maguire and N. Fousse.  The vote was taken by bllot showing 38 present 
and voting.
