Eugene "Bud" Carson, Jr.-
Madison Parish, Louisiana
March 10, 1936 - October 28, 2020
From THOMAS
AND JONES AFFORDABLE FUNERAL HOME Las Vegas, NV November 13, 2020
Eugene
"Bud" Carson, Jr. was born in Lake Providence, Louisiana to
Mary and Eugene Carson, Sr. He was the oldest child of this union. He
was preceded by his parents; his sister, Parrisinne "Baby Ray"
Townsend and two of his brothers Percy Carson and
James "Mickey" Carson, Sr. Eugene was raised in the fear
and admonition of the Lord at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church and was
baptized there in 1952.
Quite the popular young man, Eugene was
known for being hardworking and following the rules, yet he was always the
jokester! He attended Reuben McCall High School in Tallulah, Louisiana and
graduated in 1954. Upon graduation, Eugene made a plan to move out west. He
arrived in Las Vegas in 1955. But the southwest was not intimidating to Eugene
and upon arrival, he married the late Helen Dyson and began working at the
Stardust hotel. To that union two children were born.
Eugene worked at the Stardust Hotel
until 1963. He then made a career change and began working at Reynolds
Electrical and Engineering Company (REECO). He began his career at REECO as a
cafeteria supervisor, and through hard work, determination and fortitude, he
retired as a Procurement Manager. Eugene was a dedicated employee until his
illness, and after 32 years of service he retired on December 31, 1995.
Eugene married his devoted wife of 52
years, Annette Williams on October 19, 1968. He was a loving, playful, and
caring husband. Up until the day of his passing, he was making sure Annette had
everything she needed and wanted. Eugene loved his family, and especially doted
on his daughters. He wanted to be sure they were alright and knew how to take
care of themselves. However, the sparkle in his eyes were his grandchildren. He
was very protective of them, yet he loved them so much and was often playful,
even after being stern. He took pride in providing for his family and loved
them dearly.
He never claimed to be a perfect man,
and would acknowledge that he made mistakes, but he loved to love. Eugene
attended Victory Missionary Baptist Church with wife and daughters and was a
frequent contributor. He often called his family just to check on them.
He was preceded in death by sons,
Frederick Carson and KaJuan Dixon, and brother-in-law Dennis Williams. He
leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Annette, his son, Eugene Carson, III.,
daughters Juanita Thornton, Nicole Carson and JoVonne Carson; daughter-in-law
Lina; his brother, Robert "Billy" Carson (Terri); sister Katie
Harris; sisters-in-law Myrtis (Linwood) Lewis, Barbara Marshall;
brothers-in-law Alander (Laura) Williams, Leroy (Jacqueline) Williams, Ennis
(Karen) Williams and Adolphus (Kay) Noel; 9 grandchildren; 8 great
grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends!
