Pearline
Henderson Chapman was born in Tensas Parish, Louisiana on December 7, 1926 to
Katie Douglas and Moses Henderson. Pearline was one of nine siblings.
Pearline
grew up in Tallulah, Louisiana and lived in a multi-generational home with her
parents and grandmother, later moving to New Orleans. She accepted Christ at a
young age and was a devout Christian, having been a member of several
congregations in Louisiana and Denver, and a member of St. John African
Methodist Episcopal Church at the time of her passing.
Pearline
was twice married, first to James Andrews and then John Chapman. She was the
proud mother of two daughters, Doris Blanche of Las Vegas, Nevada and Patricia
Andrews-Keenan of Chicago. A grandmother of six: Glen Allen Banks, Denise
Banks, Eric Blanche, Donald Blanche and Alison Turner all of Las Vegas, Nevada
and Richard Andrews of Chicago Illinois and a great grandmother and great,
great grandmother many times over.
Pearline
departed this mortal life on June 25, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. after experiencing
deteriorating health for a number of years. She was mightily loved and will be
sorely missed by her family, extended family and many friends. A Memorial
Service will be held for her on July 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John AME Church at
2950 Bilter Road, Aurora, IL. 60502. In lieu of flowers donations, in the name
of Pearline Chapman, may be made to St. John AME Church.
