Funeral Home Delhi, LA February 19, 2024
Cynthia JoAnn Lee Dartlone Christman was born on April
10, 1951, in Vicksburg, Mississippi and passed away on February 17, 2024 in
West Monroe, Louisiana.
Visitation will held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until
2:00 p.m. with funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Delhi,
Louisiana, with Brother Jeff Coleman officiating.
A private interment for the family will follow at Delhi Masonic Cemetery
under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her father, Bobby Joe Lee; her first
husband Billy Wayne Dartlone; and her son Jed Elliot Dartlone.
She is survived by her mother, Bobbye Anne Lee; husband David Christman
Jr.; her daughter Jennifer Dartlone Shelton and husband Massey; grandchildren,
Braxton Wade Shelton, Addison Lee Shelton, and Carlyle Elizabeth Shelton.
She is also survived by her sister, Jeannie Lee Cobb and husband Lewis; brother
Billy C. Lee (Bump) and wife Brenda; brother John B. Lee (Benny) and wife
Sandi; sister Linda Lee Smith and husband Jeff; David's children David
Christman III and wife Christine; Deana Burkhart and husband Shane; and
numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cynthia spent her entire life in Madison and Richland parishes, where she
was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to
so many. She was devoted to her church and church family, especially with
the children's ministry and preschool. She graduated from Tallulah High School
in 1969.
Some angels are simply too precious to remain on the Earth for as long as
we would like them to. God was ready to be reunited with one of his
masterpieces. We must all remember that He only took Cynthia because He
couldn't be away from her any longer.
Pallbearers will be Braxton Shelton, Addison Shelton, Jeremy Rodden, Larry
Rodden, Dwight Clarke and Bill Ziegler.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Corey Albritton, Jimmy Hopson and Donnie
McMahon. Dr. Mark Scurria is representing the late Dr. Sam P. Scurria as an
honorary pallbearer.
Any planned memorials may be made to First Baptist Church P. O. Box 5
Delhi, LA 71232 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital,
Memphis, TN.
