Funeral services for
Melvin Eugene “Bobby” Clark, 88, of Tallulah, were held at 2 p.m., Wed., Jan.
4, at Waverly Baptist Church in Waverly with the Rev. Marion Spence and the
Rev. John Skinner officiating.
Visitation was held at Waverly Baptist Church Wed., Jan. 4, from 1 p.m. until
time of service.
Interment was in the
Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of
Delhi.
Melvin was born on
Aug. 14, 1934, in Darnell, La. and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on
Sun., Jan. 1, 2023, at his residence in Tallulah.
He was a truck
driver; a member of Waverly Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army.
Melvin is preceded in
death by his parents, William Hartford Clark and Sarah Ann Ulmer Clark; his
wife of over 60 years, Ellen Geneva Clark; a son, Bobby Clark; and three
siblings, Charles Clark, Hartford Clark and Evelyn Ivey.
He is survived by a
daughter, Linda Clark Herman and her husband David of Tulsa, Okla.; and a son,
William A. Clark and his wife Angie of Tchula, Miss.
He is also survived
by grandchildren: Jeffery Herman and wife Melissa, Katrina Herman Gresham and
husband Chad, Christopher Herman and wife Tosha, Wayne Clark and wife Brittany,
and Michael Clark and wife Heather.
Melvin is also
survived by great-grandchildren, Grace, Maddox, and Elizabeth Gresham,
Michael Herman, Lexis Garrett and husband Austin, Will Clark, Brendon Quon and
William Thomas Clark.
Those honored to
serve as pallbearers were grandsons, Wayne Clark, Michael Clark, Will Clark,
Chad Gresham, Christopher Herman and Jeffery Herman.
Honorary pallbearers
were Wayne Mahoney, David Mahoney, Larry Mahoney, Paul Mahoney and Eddie
Mahoney.
