Garland Michael
"Mike" Cox - Madison Parish, Louisiana
October 28, 1964 ~ January 29, 2022 (age 57)
From Crothers-Glenwood
Funeral Home Tallulah. LA February 1, 2022
Garland Michael
"Mike" Cox of Tallulah, Louisiana, passed away at Christus St.
Frances Cabrini Hospital - Alexandria on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the age
of 57. Mike touched countless lives during those 57 years, filling each
moment with so much love and laughter. A few of “Chopper’s” favorite
hobbies included spending Saturdays with his friends to work on his budding
golf career, maintaining endless hope for LSU football with his brother, Billy
Cox, and sister-in-law, Thelma Cox, taking road trips and modeling matching
outfits with his son, Brady Cox, chasing the ice cream truck with his
bonus-son, Landon Taylor, video chatting with his daughter, Kasey Netherland,
to talk about everything important and nothing at all, and dancing to Bruno
Mars while sharing a “pockle” (popsicle) with his two year old granddaughter,
Isla Netherland.
Mike was proud of his
family and centered his life around them, putting their needs before his
own. Over the last year, Mike was often found simultaneously taking
care of his mother, Ada Louise Cox, running Brady between school and sports,
and babysitting Isla. This was Mike at his core, serving other people
with purpose.
Mike held true to his
faith as a Christian man and has now joined his father, Clayton Wells Cox, and daughter,
Jenny Lynn Cox, in Heaven. Although Mike left this Earth too early, he
will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of the lives he touched so
deeply.
A visitation for Mike
will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at First Baptist Church of
Tallulah (700 Bayou Drive; Tallulah, LA 71282) at 12:00 PM followed by the
funeral service at 1:00 PM with Dr. Jason McGuffie and Rev. Jay Parker
officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Memorial Park
Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in
Tallulah.
Pallbearers will be
Kirk Morley, Chris Cagnolatti, Dickie Thomas, Buddy Caldwell, John Tony, and
Donald Wells. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Cagnolatti, Mac
Cagnolatti, George Bachelor, Bull Frierson, Stoney Goodman, and Jason Nolan
In lieu of flowers,
the family has established a college fund for Brady Cox, minored by custodian,
Kasey Netherland, at Guaranty Bank & Trust (13 Crothers Drive; Tallulah, LA
71282).
Chopper, Mike,
Brother, Papaw, Son, Dad…we miss you dearly but find comfort in knowing that we
will see you again soon.
