Mr. William Earl Fondren passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe, Louisiana, at the age of 70.

Mr. Fondren was born September 20, 1953, in Delhi, Louisiana, to Virginia and James Albert Fondren, Sr. He graduated from Tallulah High School in 1972. He married Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Thornton on April 29, 1977. He was a maintenance worker for two apartment complexes in Newellton and St. Joseph. Mr. Fondren liked to spend time with his wife, Liz, his son, Taylor, and he loved playing with his grandchildren, Khloe, Maddie, and Luke, and his great grandchild, Khoda. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and gardening. Mr. Fondren was a faithful and active member of Acts Tabernacle until his death.

Mr. Fondren is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and James Albert Fondren, Sr.; brothers, James Albert Fondren, Jr. and Robert Dewey Fondren; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil Thornton, Sr. and Jimmie Thornton.

Mr. Fondren is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Thornton Fondren; son, William “Taylor” Fondren (Lisa); brother, Lloyd Ray Fondren (Robin); sister, Eva Fondren Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation for Mr. William Earl Fondren will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, May 27, 2024, at Crothers Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Richland United Pentecostal Church in Holly Ridge, Louisiana, with Rev. Dwight Fulton, Rev. Robert McGaha, and Rev. Dwayne Whittington officiating. Burial will follow at McKnight Cemetery in Holly Ridge.

Pallbearers will be Robert Thornton, Sr., Terry McGaha, Michael Thornton, Ronald Rawls, Jody Rawls, Garren Whittington, and Liam Joe Whittington. Honorary pallbearers will be his great nephews.
