William A. (Bill) Good passed away
peacefully on Thursday morning, September 30, 2010. He was 75 years of age
and a resident of
Kenner, LA.
He is survived by his
adoring wife of forty years, Virginia Johnston Good, brother
Dennis Good and wife Juanita of Slidell, LA,
son William (Billy) Good
and wife Kelley, daughter Virginia Ann Doyle of Houston, TX, grandchildren Erin
Oppen-heim, Nicoline,
Julianne and William
Good, niece Erin Hellyer and husband Ron, nephew
Denny Good, brother-in-law Douglas Johnston of
Lafayette, LA and
numerous friends.
Son of William S.
Good Jr. and Marie Bouchez Good, he was born and
raised in New Orleans. He attended Gentilly Terrace,
St. Aloysius, and
LSU. He was a member of
the LA National Guard. He is mostly known for his ownership, along with his
brother Dennis, of Blue Streak Enterprises
where they were ahead of
their time rigging boats for offshore fishing. He later owned Bill Good Marine
and Winners Restaurant in Harahan.
Bill was an avid
offshore fisherman, duck hunter and outdoorsman. He is a former member of the
New Orleans Big Game fishing club where
he won many awards. One
of his favorite things in his later years was visiting the family farm in Tallulah, LA, where he
spent many weekends
doing what he most loved,
entertaining and deer hunting.
Relatives and friends
of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the Chapel of Lake
Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain
Blvd. on Monday,
October 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. until service
time. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to
