Services for Mr. William Wallace
“Buckwheat” Harvey will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 10, 2020. Bro. Jason
Lupo will be officiating a graveside service at Silver Cross Cemetery in
Tallulah, Louisiana, under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in
Tallulah. Family visitation will be held at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home
prior to the funeral.
Mr. Harvey passed away Sunday, December
6, 2020, at the home of his sister in Tallulah, Louisiana. He was 72 years old.
A native of Tallulah, he was born on
February 2, 1948, to Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Harvey. He graduated in 1966 from
Tallulah High School (known to his fellow classmates as “Buckwheat”), attended
and graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1970 with a degree in
Agribusiness. Later he became the County Agent for the parish of Rapides.
He retired from the City of Wasilla,
Alaska, where he worked as the Assistant Director of public works and also
served as President and on the Board of Directors for the Rural Water
Association for the state of Alaska.
Mr. Harvey was preceded in death by his
mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Luther L. Harvey; his grandmother, Ella
Franklin; and brother Luther “Buddy” Harvey.
He is survived by his sister, Faye
Harvey Maxwell of Tallulah, Louisiana; daughters, Leslie Harvey Furello and
Evelyn Harvey Boyd, both of Tallulah, Louisiana; six grandchildren, and three
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hoffman,
Joshua Hoffman, Jon Pate Hoffman, Danny Collins, Jamie Dalhauser, and Cade
Fortenberry.
Honorary pallbearers are Mike Porter,
Lamar Walters, Bruce Harvey, and Donald Collins.
