Funeral service for
Juanita Marie Plant Lancaster Heflin, 83, of Trinity will be today, September
12, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Pastor Grady Mimbs officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial
Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Heflin, who died
Monday, September 9, 2013, at home with family and friends, was born December
24, 1929, in Tallulah, La., to the late Samual and
Myrtle Antoine Plant. She was a graduate of Trinity High School. She worked at
BellSouth, Elmores, and retired from Goodyear mill in
Decatur. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She raised seven children
whom she had with Will Lancaster and spent over 20 years in marriage. She also
spent 30 years with husband, Richard Heflin. He had five children when they
married and she helped raise his youngest child, Tammy. They worked hard to
blend the families together.
She loved
housekeeping, gardening, cooking, and was very artistic. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Richard Heflin Sr.; son, Kirk Lancaster; son-in-law,
Billy Joe Landers; two stepsons, Richard Jr. and Tim Heflin; brother, Samual Plant Jr.; and step great-grandchild, Shelby Lee
Goode. Survivors include three sons, Phil (Lisa), Joey (Sherry) and Danny (Pam)
Lancaster; three daughters, Jan Landers, Angie Roberts and Tina Reed (Jody);
three stepdaughters, Janet Peymani, Daryl Berryman
and Tammy Street; 17 grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren, 21 step great-grandchildren and ten step
great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be
grandsons.
