William Hicks, 86, transitioned from this life very peacefully August 10, 2018, surrounded by his wife, Ruth Newman-Hicks and son, Waymond Lamar Hicks, at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona.

Hicks was born July 17, 1932, in Tallulah, Louisiana. Viewing will be 2-6 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, at Thomas and Jones Affordable Funeral Home, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89108. Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89106. Burial following at noon, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
