Joseph Cohren Holley - Madison Parish, Louisiana
From The Dallas
Morning News August 4, 2011
Holley, Joseph Cohren,
on July 31, 2011, one week after celebrating his 83rd birthday, Joe was called
to his heavenly home. Joe was blessed with many passions that he was able to
enjoy throughout his life. He learned to fly at the age of 14 and served as a
B-24 Navigator in the Korean War. Following the war, he
received his Masters at LSU and enjoyed a career spanning 40 years as an
entomologist in the agriculture business in the Rio Grande Valley. After
retirement he settled in the quaint, quiet town of Glen Rose, TX. Joe was an
avid outdoorsman; hunting and fishing were his major passions.
He is survived by his
loving wife: Jimmie Lou Holley, two sons: John Holley and wife Mary Catherine
of Cherokee, TX; Joseph "Ace Holley, Jr. and wife Laurie of Houston;
Sallie Anderson and husband Gary of Carrollton; Susan Gregory of Dallas, and
Cynthia Jones and husband, James D. of Corpus Christi, TX.; 9 grandchildren and
5 great grandchildren; brother, Hugh Holley of Tallulah, LA.
We know you are at
peace now, free of pain and suffering. Thanks for all that you did for us. Geaux Tigers! A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm,
Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the chapel, Sparkman Hillcrest. The family requests
that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
