Clyde, TX. Mellie
Hunt, 87, of Clyde, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017, at an Abilene
hospital. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Wednesday, December 27,
2017, at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Hooper
officiating.
Mellie was born June 21, 1930, in Tallulah,
Louisiana, to Clarence Edward and Iva Orice Kirby
Storey. She attended school in Louisiana and graduated from a dental
assistant's school in California. She married Joseph Hunt in 1958 in Reno,
Nevada. She worked as a dental assistant for Edward Windelor
in San Francisco. Mellie moved to Clyde in 1977 from
Amarillo. She was a member of the Cherry Heights Baptist Church.
Mellie is survived by three sons, Jay Hunt of Anson,
Thomas Hunt of Springtown and John Hunt of Clyde; two daughters, Yvonne Webb
and Cynthia Abernathy, both of Clyde; four grandsons, Jason Howell of Eula,
Jeremy Howell of Abilene, Mike Hunt of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex
and David Abernathy of Clyde; three great-granddaughters; and two
great-grandsons.
Mellie was preceded in death by her parents; one
daughter, Mellie Kathleen Hunt; and three brothers,
Joe Ed Storey, Jack Houston Storey and Nicky Dale Storey.
