Willie Clinton Johnson, age 81 of Delhi, Louisiana passed away on
Thursday, August 1, 2024. Clint was born on February 26, 1943, in Oak Grove,
Louisiana and lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.
On February 23, 1962, Clint married his beloved wife, Charlotte. Together,
they built a cherished home and family in Madison Parish. Clint devoted thirty
years to serving as the Superintendent of the Madison Parish Police Jury, a
role in which he was highly respected for his leadership and commitment. Even
after retirement, he remained active, hauling grain and embarking on a second
career at Avondale in Vicksburg, MS
.After retirement Clint and Charlotte relocated to the Dunn community to
be closer to their family and friends. They were members of Newton Baptist
Church, where their faith and community spirit were evident to all who knew
them.
A distinguished Master Mason, Clint was an active member of Delhi Lodge
120 and Tallulah Lodge 308. His contributions to the Masonic community were
significant; he served as the District Deputy Grand Lecturer of the 7th Masonic
District of the State of Louisiana and held a gold card of proficiency in
Masonic works.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Charlotte Hooter Johnson;
son Scott Johnson and his wife Angela of Delhi; daughter Kimberly Wilson and
her husband Darrell of Winnsboro; and daughter Sheila Presley of Delhi. He is
also survived by ten grandchildren: Jay Wilson, Sara Richmond, Dana Braning,
Zac Presley, Travis Presley, Brian Garner, Cal Johnson, Hannah Joy, Isabelle
Smithey, and Lane Jarvis, eighteen great-grandchildren, his sister, Eula Bell
Melton and her husband Micky and a host of nieces and nephews.
Clint was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Dorilla (Mother)
Johnson; his son, William Johnson; and his sister, Louise Frith.
A celebration of life will be held on August 4, 2024 at 3:00 PM at
Pentecost Tabernacle in Delhi, Louisiana. The service will be officiated by
Bro. Todd Perry and Bro. Anthony Smithey. Graveside service will follow at
Faith Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Cal Johnson, Travis Presley, Zac Presley, Lane Jarvis, Jay
Wilson, and Gavin Joy. Honorary Pallbearers are the brothers of the Masonic
Lodges of Tallulah and Delhi.
Visitation for friends will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 5:00
to 8:00 PM at Cox Funeral Home. His legacy of service and love will live on in
the hearts of all who knew him
