Julian, Jr., Clarence
Adair, age 77, of Orlando, Fl., passed away May 30, 2002. He was born in Helena, Arkansas, in 1924, but
moved to Tallulah,
Louisiana in 1930.
He served with distinction in the U.S.
Army Signal Corp in WWII, intercepting German radio transmissions for the
British intelligence.
Mr. Julian first attended Little Rock
Junior College, where he was elected president of Delta Kappa Fraternity, then he received a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration from the University of Arkansas, graduating with honors.
In 1950, he married Jean Sheppard of
Cherry Valley, AR, and although she passed away in 1983, Mr. Julian continued
to wear his wedding band until the end of his life.
He was ordained as a deacon in the
Presbyterian Church in 1961, and he is a past president of the Administration
Management Society.
Mr. Julian had a long and successful
business career in insurance accounting, working for large corporations in
Arkansas, Tennessee and Illinois, before moving to Florida in 1982 to become
Vice President/General Manager of Florida No-Fault Insurance Agency. In 1989, he moved to Orlando, FL, to become
Controller of Dealer’s Insurance Company.
He was elected Official Greeter
Emeritus of Professional Employment Network in 2000, and he was a member of the
Calvary Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Julian was preceded in death by
his wife, Jean Sheppard Julian, and he is survived by a son, Clarence Adair
Julian III, of Salt Lake City; daughter, Victoria Jean Julian of Orlando; and
many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service will be Friday, June
7, at 10 AM at Forest Hill East Chapel, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN, 901-382-1000.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 6, from 5 – 8 PM at Forest Hill East
Chapel. Rev. Greg Albert, of Calvary
Presbyterian Church, Orlando, FL will be at both the visitation and the funeral
service.
