Sharon Jane Wilson Merritt passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi, Louisiana, surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old. Mrs. Sherion was born May 3, 1944, in Bryam, Texas, to Wallace George and Virginia Jane McNair Wilson.

Mrs. Sherion was a long-time, very active member of Parkview Baptist Church in Tallulah, Louisiana, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She was also on the children’s committee and worked tirelessly with Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. She worked at Loving Hearts Ministry Mission Store for several years, and she enjoyed helping with prison ministry. She was always ready and willing to help her family and friends doing whatever she could for them. She visited the nursing home residents weekly and every holiday brought handmade cards (made by her own hands) to every resident there to brighten their room. Mrs. Sherion is most well known in Tallulah for her work at Madison Parish Health Unit for 30 plus years. She was always there ready to help anyone who came through the door. She loved people and had a way of making everybody she came in contact with smile. She loved to read and sew. She was a great mother and loved being “Nona”.

Mrs. Sherion is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert Merritt. She is survived by two daughters, Gwyn Ogden (Neal) and Tammy Caraway; grandchildren, Justin Ogden (Megan) and Coltin Ogden (Baylea); great grandchildren, Hadley Ogden, Harper Ogden, Aubrey Ogden, and Navie Ogden; sister, Sue Kirk (Bill); brother, Lane Wilson (Sara); nephews, Jimmie Kirk and Jeff Wilson (Angie) and niece, Sophia Wattigny (Chris).
