Fred Nash, Jr. July 22, 1937 - June 5, 2009 - Madison Parish, Louisiana
Fred Nash was born to Fred and Annie
Nash in Tallulah, La.,
and moved to Vallejo, Calif., in 1942.
Fred attended local schools
and was raised in the Chabot Terrace projects where Fred was recognized for
having the largest paper route in Vallejo and received an award from the
publishers.
Fred later moved to
the Floyd Terrace area and was known for his beautiful and fast cars. Fred had
a 1955 Red/ Black Mercury with glass pipes that everyone admired.
Fred moved to
Sacramento, Calif., where he owned and operated Nash's Trucking for more than
30 years until his health failed him.
He also owned and
operated a board and care facility for the developmentally disabled. Fred was a
Mason and a member of the Elks Lodge.
Fred leaves to
celebrate his life his loving wife of 38 years, Jearline Nash; a son, Terauchi;
and two daughters, LaTanya Nash Johnson (Kenneth) and Lisa McJoy, all of Sacramento.
In addition, he's
survived by two sisters, Betty Nash Robinson of Sacramento, and Barbara Nash
McKinley of Vallejo; three grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces,
cousins and friends.
The viewing is set
for 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Morgan-Jones Funeral Home, 4200 Broadway,
Sacramento. The services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, at Paradise
Baptist Church, Strawberry Lane, Sacramento.
