Carrie Brown Neal Madison Parish, LA
From Palm Northwest
Mortuary Las Vegas, NV October 27, 2016
Carrie Neal was born in Tallulah,
Louisiana to Larry Brown and Mabel Harris on November 17, 1939.
She met Clarence
Cartwright when she was just a young girl and they married at an early age. To
this union 6 children were born; 5 girls and 1 boy. Together with their
children they moved to Las Vegas in 1965. She remarried in 1974 to Charlie D.
Neal and to that union one daughter was born.
She gained employment
at the Thunderbird Hotel. She remained in the hotel industry for 38 years and
she retired from Circus Circus Hotel in 2003.
She is known amongst
her children, grandchildren and friends as ‘Buddy’. She gained this name back
in the late 80’s, early 90’s when the ‘My Buddy Doll’ was released. This way we
would all know that she was our Buddy no matter what, so the next time you
think about that commercial tune….’my buddy, my buddy wherever I go you’re
going to go’…..think happy thoughts of her.
Preceding her in
death is her father, Larry Brown; her mother, Mabel Harris; and her son, John
Cartwright.
She leaves to cherish
her memory; Six Daughters, Patricia Cartwright, Lorraine Cartwright, Elaine
Cartwright, Mabel Cartwright (Jerry), C. Diane Bradford (Sherman), and Charlene
Neal all of Las Vegas. Eleven Grandchildren; Lashaunie
‘Cherie’ Cartwright, Eric Hudson, Tomika Johnson,
Carrie Howard, Emmanuel ‘Anthony’ Cartwright, Sherell
Brown, Kyuana Johnson, LaQueta
Cartwright, Jerry ‘Jay’ Ormond, Jr. (Jamila), Charlie
‘C.J.’ Neal and Aireona Bradford all of Las Vegas.,
Nineteen Great Grandchildren, Four Great Great
Grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.
