basketball at the high school and met his beautiful wife of 58 years and he
lost her on September 6, 2008.
He was a very loving
husband who kept his wife at home caring of her until her passing.
They lived in

for Anderson, Clayton, Paymaster Oil Mill Company and the Bunge Corp. where he
was a superintendent and traveled the country talking on safety. Very well known for his jokes before speeches. He served as
president of Tri State Oil Mills Processing Soybeans.
When they came to
Jackson, MS, they had their only daughter, Carole Buffington. Not long after
being here they had two sons, Bobby Rush and Jimmy Rush.
That’s when he
started coaching baseball teams. He was very passionate and loved coaching. He
played golf, but his favorite joy was going to his lake house at Lake Bruin in
LA to fish and boat ride with his children and grandchildren,
He was in the
National Guard, 32 Degree Mason, very active in the Episcopal Church. He
received an award for saving Jackson in 1954 for defusing dynamite at the
plant. He loved his family and friends.
He is preceded in
death by his loving wife, Patricia “Pat” Rush; his parents, Lorleann
and J.L. Rush; and one brother, Bufkin Rush.
He leaves behind his
children, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
