Howard Ray Strebeck, beloved Dad, Granddaddy and Mandaddy, brother and uncle, passed away on October 16, 2022, in Bossier City, LA. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA on October 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Alan Miller, family friend, officiating and Don Burns, beloved nephew, giving the eulogy. Burial will follow at Mt. Rose McGee Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be at Riser Funeral Home on October 19, 2022, at 11:00.

Howard was born in Caldwell Parish on June 27, 1927, to Luella and Ollie Strebeck and lived in Grayson since 1984.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Willie Nell Richardson Strebeck.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Carroll and husband Sam of Bossier City; his daughter, Sandra Newsom and husband West of Humble, TX and his son Neil Strebeck and wife Tammy of Mount Ida, AR; grandchildren Camille Arriola (Brian) of Tomball, TX; Joellen Ford(Charles) of Bossier City; Danielle Alaman (Johnathon) of Spring TX; Tyler Strebeck (Donna) of Clifton, NJ and Tiffani Satriano(Joey) of Spring, TX and Heather Mitchmore (Justin) of Dayton, TX; fourteen great grandchildren; his brother Clayton Strebeck of Alexandria, LA, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Howard was raised in Caldwell Parish, attending Grayson High School before enlisting in the Navy in 1945. His ship was on its way to Pearl Harbor when the war ended. After being discharged, he came home to marry his childhood sweetheart, Willie Nell Richardson, on September 24, 1946. He went to Louisiana Tech for two years, then worked at Chicago Mill and Lumber Co. in Tallulah, LA until he went to work for United Gas Pipeline on June 1, 1953. Over the years he and the family lived in Needville, TX, Woodsboro, TX, Delhi, LA, Olla, LA, Monroe, LA, and Lafayette, LA. United Gas Pipeline was bought out by Pennzoil and this is the company Howard retired from in 1984 at which time he and Willie Nell moved back to Grayson.

Howard Strebeck moved into the Haven Nursing Center in July of 2019 where he resided until his death. He loved and was loved by the kind and loving staff there and was always telling stories of the fun times playing bingo and talking with the girls.

He was a member and deacon of Grayson Baptist Church and was a charter member of East Bayou Baptist Church in Lafayette, LA. Howard was a family oriented man who kept in touch with cousins and relatives via the phone until his passing.

He loved mowing and being on his tractor; he was always in the kitchen ready to make a pan of biscuits. You would often find him sitting on the porch visiting with friends and family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Ford, Wesley Burns, Benny Ray Nevels, Ricky Nevels, Johnathon Alaman, and Cody McElroy.
