Diane Elizabeth
Duncan Thibodeaux - Madison Parish, Louisiana
From New
Orleans Times-Picayune March 10,
2017
Diane Elizabeth
Duncan Thibodeaux died peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer on
March 2, 2017. She fought the good fight, she finished the race, and held onto
her faith.
Diane was born in
Vicksburg, MS to Richard and Darlene Duncan on September 18, 1966. Raised in
Tallulah, she graduated from Tallulah High School in 1984.
Diane loved life and
worked as a restaurant manager, a respiratory therapist, a lawn technician, and
a musician. She moved to New Orleans in 1986 and later married Jimmy Thibodeaux
after meeting in 1993. They worked together playing music, tending their
garden, and living life. They raised their two daughters Dodie,
now 17, and Daphne, age 9, in New Orleans.
Diane's smile was
contagious. She was always happy and positive even through her illness. You
could always count on her for a smile. She played the washboard with a flare,
and would have the whole crowd singing and dancing along with her. She loved to
fish and hunt all of her life and she was exceedingly excited the first time
she was able to land a big alligator and has since mounted in her home. She was
an excellent cook, and her girls will attest to that. Diane loved making people
laugh. She could keep you in stitches with all of her stories and memories. She
loved to hang out with her friends, particularly at Fahy's
Irish Pub, played on the Quarter Rats pool team, and marched with the Shady
Ladies organization in the 90's. She was always somewhere around town making
someone laugh and someone else smile.
Special thanks to
Staci Warner and David Wood for all their care, help & support. In lieu of
flowers, a college account has been set up for Dodie
and Daphne at Regions Bank. Please make donations at any Regions branch to
Diane Duncan-Thibodeaux Educational fund for daughters. Account number
0237440543.
