Tallulah - Ann Dozier Thomas of Tallulah, Louisiana, died in her home on September 24 following a short illness. She was born August 3, 1929 in Delhi, Louisiana, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Rudolph M. Dozier, Sr. Mrs. Thomas was a resident of Tallulah for 68 years, a member of the Tallulah United Methodist Church and was retired from the Police Jury of Madison Parish. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and was well known for her many delicious dishes and her cookbook collection. She was valedictorian of her class at Delhi High School and attended Centenary College in Shreveport, La., where her social sorority was Zeta Tau Alpha.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Collins S. Thomas of Tallulah, her parents, her mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thomas of Tallulah, and her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph M. Dozier, Jr. of Monroe.
She is survived by her nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Trey Dozier and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Dozier and her great nieces and nephews, Rudy, Lily, Payton, and Karson Dozier, all of Monroe. Included in her family are cousins, M. Stein Baughman, Mitzi B. Gates, and Lynn B. Duncan of Farmerville, La., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Liz Thomas of Ruston, La.
Services for Mrs. Thomas will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Monroe, La., with visitation one hour before the service from 10 to 11 A.M.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Sharon Harris, Hospice of Delhi, her caretakers and sitters for their care, services, and many kindnesses.
Any planned memorials should be made to the Tallulah United Methodist Church and the Methodist Children's Home in Ruston.
