Delia passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the age of 85. Delia was born November 29, 1937, and was a life-long resident of Tallulah. She married Thomas Trichell and they enjoyed a long, happy marriage bringing up four children while being actively engaged in church and community activities. Delia was retired from the Madison Parish School System as Manager of the cafeteria system. She then was called upon for the next decades to cater parties and weddings and was the first choice of anyone planning a large social event. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was happiest when hosting a big, noisy family dinner preparing all the favorite dishes for them. Delia expanded her family circle to include her many friends, especially her church group, and was the star contributor of every pot luck event. Delia met every challenge in life with matter-of-fact realism and an unfailing positive outlook. She will be long remembered for the genuine love she freely offered to her family and extended to her many friends.

Those who will miss Delia the most are her children: sons Tommy and wife Tracy, DeWayne and wife Colleen, Cal and wife Shelley and daughter Brenda Hayes and husband Brett; grandchildren: Alexandra Rice and husband Keith, Thomas and James Trichell, Alan Hayes and wife Karley, Winston Hayes, Shea Trichell, Kaileigh Stubbs and husband Casey, and Victoria Hays and husband Edward; great grandchildren: Dixie, Keith, and Bellamy Rice, Jack and Ollie Hayes, Tanner Trichell, Baylor and Watsyn Hays; her sister Patricia Ann Wilhite, brother Dexter Phillips and wife Marilyn and a host of nieces and nephews. She is reunited in Heaven with her husband Thomas Trichell, infant sons Donald and Ronald, her parents William Jennings Thigpen and Berniece Phillips, and brothers William, Pooler, and Arthur Thigpen.

Pallbearers will be Alan Hayes, Winston Hayes, Thomas Trichell, James Trichell, Sam Thigpen, and Jackie Thames.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Sam Pierce and Staff at Medical Associates of Vicksburg for the dedicated, compassionate care they provided. They request any memorials be sent to St. Edward Catholic Church in Tallulah.
