TALLULAH, La. — Services for Maurice R. Ursery will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Crothers-Glenwood Fu­neral Home Chapel in Tallulah with the Rev. Ramon Warren and the Rev. John Scarf officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.

 

Mr. Ursery died today, Nov. 20, 1992, at ParkView Regional Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 75.

 

He was a native of Arkansas and had lived in Tallulah for 49 years. He was a retired vice president of Tal­lulah Production Credit Association and a member of the Tallulah United Methodist Church, where he served as choir director for 40 years. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 100, where he held every office in the organ­ization and was awarded a special plaque for 47 years of service.

 

He is survived by his wife, Julia Williams Ursery of Tallulah; two daughters, Carole Anne Byram of Vicksburg and Janet Lancaster of O'Fallon. Ill.; two brothers, Thomas A. Ursery and Thurman Buell Ursery, both of Elm Grove, La.; four grandchildren, Charles Ragan Byram and John Kevin Byram, both of Vicksburg, Adam Byram Lancaster and Stephen Matthew Lancaster, both of O'Fallon.

 

Pallbearers will be Bill Williams, Glenn Booth. Bobby Joe Lee, Billy Clyde Lee, Bennett Lee and Carroll Crow.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Char­les Arneson and members of Ameri­can Legion Post No. 100.
