Mrs. Walters passed away at 3:16 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Ozarks Medical Center.

She was born September 14, 1951, at Delhi, Louisiana, to Payton Woodrow Farish and Dorothy Jean Hill Farish.  Jimmie graduated from high school in Tallulah, Louisiana and graduated from Northeast Louisiana State College with a degree in elementary education and later received a master’s degree from Mizzou.  On February 7, 1970, she was married at Transylvania, Louisiana, to George Walters.  They welcomed four children together, Stewart in 1975, Stacey in 1977, Stephen in 1980 and Seth in 1989.  Jimmie spent most of her life teaching, which was her greatest passion.  Every student she taught was special to her and she always went above and beyond to help and encourage each and every one.  Jimmie loved her family beyond measure and enjoyed spending as much time with all of them as she could.

She is survived by her husband, George Walters; her children, Stewart Walters and wife, Kayanna, Stacey Walters, Stephen Walters and wife, Kasey and Seth Walters; seven grandchildren, Seth Stiles, Savannah, Breezy, Hayden, Holden, Bryant and Paige Walters; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Wise and husband, Pete and Deb Taylor and husband, Bruce; several nieces and nephews; and many more that she had “adopted” as her own.

Her parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruby Mae Dukes Walters and Olan George Walters, one brother, Payton Woodrow Farish and two sisters, Susan Lanette Farish and Kathy Diane Farish Williamson, preceded her in death.
