NATCHEZ — Kaye DeMoss Walters (aka KeKe and Coachette) passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 10, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She graduated from THS in 1970.

Kaye was born on November 29, 1952, in Newellton, Louisiana to parents William Major DeMoss and Mary Cheek DeMoss.  She’s preceded in death by her parents, husband, Keith Walters, daughter Melissa K Jennings, DVM and brother, William Major DeMoss Jr. 

Survivors include her daughter, Jaclyn Jennings Jones of Natchez, Ms and stepdaughter, Danielle Walters of Chicago, Il, her grandchildren, Madison Burgess, Brock Burgess and Lana Reece Jones all of Natchez, Ms. Kaye is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Jo Reeves of Bossier City, La., Myra Alyce Wyche (Gary) of Benton, La. and Mary Beth Oglesby (Row) of Conroe, Tx., together with many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Kaye completed her bachelor’s degree in accounting at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. She worked in the Insurance industry in one capacity or another the majority of her adult life. In August 2012 she retired from State Farm Insurance after 20 years of service. 

Kaye enjoyed everything LSU and attended all their sporting events when she was able. She also enjoyed playing and watching golf, traveling and visiting different PGA courses, and spending time with family and friends.Kaye was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority at Louisiana Tech and continued to remain in contact with her sisterhood as an alumnus. 

Kaye was a fighter throughout her cancer battle. She has touched many lives with her compassion and generosity for and towards others. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service after the holidays. Information will be provided when details are confirmed.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to www.ctf.org a cause near and dear to Kaye.
