Funeral services for
Russell “Rusty” Lavon White, age 65, will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021,
at 2:00 PM at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana, with Bro.
Marshall Sevier officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Wednesday, December
8, 2021, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at
Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood
Funeral Home.
Rusty passed away
Monday, December 6, 2021, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe,
Louisiana, after a brief illness. He was born January 31, 1956, in Lake
Providence, Louisiana, to Daniel Buford White, Sr. and Mary Edith White.
Rusty was a graduate
of Tallulah High School’s Class of 1974. He was a hair stylist in Tallulah for
Faye’s Beauty Salon and Shear Perfection. He later worked in the food service
industry as a maître d in both the New Orleans and Shreveport areas. He then
moved back to Tallulah in 1997 where he remained his last years. He volunteered
much of his time helping at Beene’s Pharmacy, decorating and maintaining the
gift department, wrapping gifts, delivering prescriptions and numerous other
duties. Rusty was loved by everyone he met. He is remembered for his witty
personality, coordinated colorful dress style, unique decorating skills, but
mostly for his caring, loving, generous heart of gold. He will be missed by all
who knew him.
Rusty is preceded in
death by his parents, Buford and Edith White, and his brothers, Benny and
Danny. He is survived by his youngest brother, Marty Dewayne White and wife Lyn
of Monroe, Louisiana; his nieces and nephews, Daphne Beene and husband Todd of
Tallulah, Dan White of Tallulah, Deidra Rice and husband Danny of Vicksburg,
Mississippi, Ben White and wife Ginny of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Billy White of
Vicksburg, Mississippi, Lexie Burton and husband Beau of Minden, Louisiana,
Will White and wife Coty Brooke of Monroe, Louisiana, and numerous great nieces
and nephews.
Pallbearers will be
Will White, Ethan Beene, Graham Beene, Carter White, Billy White, and Clarence
Cox.
