Mr.
Williams was born on April 11, 1938 in Delhi, LA and passed away on December
12, 2014 in West Monroe, LA. "Coach Jack" was a beloved coach and
mentor in West Monroe track and field for 31 years from 1962-1993. His
experiences as a state champion runner served him well. His belief in his
runners caused many to excel both on and off the track. He always took great
pleasure in seeing former students and hearing about their lives, their
successes were his successes. Jack was married to the love of his life, his
Susie, for 52 years. Together they raised three fine sons and welcomed five
amazing grandchildren.
Coach
Jack enjoyed his retirement growing prize winning tomatoes and fishing for tall
tale worthy fish. He enjoyed reminiscing about his antics, winning a golden
gloves boxing championship and serving our country in the Army in the late
1950's. Jack loved his country and his family. Nothing lit up his eyes like one
of his grands. He will be incredibly missed and
fondly remembered.
He is
preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ellen Briggs Williams; his parents, Renford and Eunice Williams; and siblings, Bobby Ray, June,
Tolbert and Jean.
Survivors
