Funeral services for Linda Metcalfe Williamson, age 79,
will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Crothers Glenwood Funeral
Home in Tallulah, Louisiana. Bro. Ray Thornton and Cody Collins will conduct
the service. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the funeral
service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.
Linda passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024, at North Oaks Medical Center in
Hammond, Louisiana. She was born October 31, 1944, in Centerville, Mississippi,
to Lamar and Elizabeth McDaniel Metcalfe. Linda and her four sisters sang in
their church choir. Linda enjoyed many talents including painting, any kind of
artwork, singing, and playing any kind of musical instrument. She traveled the
country singing with a group called The Western Swingers. Linda was happily
married to Carl Williamson for over 50 years. She was a teacher at Tallulah
Elementary School teaching kindergarten for almost 30 years. She was a loving
mother to her two children and dearly loved her grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Williamson; her son, Keith
Williamson; her parents, Lamar and Elizabeth Metcalfe; and her sisters, Yvonne
Ballard and Leona Bit Avery.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Karen Collins (Ricky Brewer);
grandchildren, Carl Wicker, Cody Collins, David Collins, Brian Williamson, and
Mary Beth Williamson; great grandchildren, Waylon Wicker and Whitney Rayne
Collins; and sisters, Nancy Byrd (Wiley) and Peggy Livingston.
Pallbearers will be Carl Wicker, Cody Landrem, Cody Collins, Allen Jobe,
Chris Cagnolatti, and Mark Jobe. Honorary pallbearers will be David Collins and
Brian Williamson.
