They will be located in the building formerly occupied by the Dixie Barber Shop and Pool Hall located on Depot street. The interior of the building is being reworked at the present time. Lee Word, carpenter superintend from Leesville, Louisiana, began work on the building this week. D. F. Munsell, construction superintendent, also arrived this week to supervise the work on the building. Mr. Word said that about two weeks would be required to get the building ready for the merchandise to be moved into it. The time required to arrange the articles in the store will be a week or ten days. No opening date has been set. The Morgan and Lindsey chain system was started in Jasper, Tex. in 1921. Success has come to the chain store operators, so that each year they add to their number three or four new stores. The store here will be about their 45th one. Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana are the states that they have located their stores in. Few articles are kept in their stores that cost over one dollar. Most of the articles range in price from five cents to a dollar. B. Morgan is president; C. V. Lindsey, Vice-president; B. G. Lindsey, secretary and treasurer; C A. Morgan is superintendent of all the stores.
