NOTES |
Altoona |
Located west of Tallulah on Hwy 80 about 2 miles east of Delhi. Was a railroad stop on the Missouri Pacific Line just north of Tallulah. Since the Delta Eagle quit running many years ago, (it never stopped there, though) the stop was abandoned. It may have had its roots in a plantation there. (Submitted by Max Rosenzweig) |

MILLIKEN’S BEND
.
Milliken's Bend was within "Carroll Parish" boundaries
at one time. It was located along the Mississippi
River. But as the Mississippi is bound to do - the course has
changed naturally, & forced by man, through the years. The town of
Milliken's Bend is
no longer there.
.
The Madison Parish Clerk's Office has an old map on the wall that shows the
location by Township, Range &
Section.
