Godwin made in the city of New Orleans State of Louisiana Saturday October 6th 1883. I David Resolve Godwin of this city and state being sound in body and mind, do make this my Last Will and Testament. I want all of my debts paid (first) out of the proceeds of the following list of assets and if there is any thing left over, I want my wife Clara Claire Toledano to have the use of it until her death without giving any security, I wish her to have the whole charge and sole charge of my estate whatsoever, lands, house, scripts movable or immovable that I may be possessed at my death or may to collected from sudaria after and I would respectfully ask the court to put her in immediate possession, with as little expense as possible without giving any security, what so ever. “signed” David Resolve Godwin (in full) David R.
