Paulus Joselle "P" Boler was born on October 28, 1978 in Houston, Tx to Joe and Mary Boler. In 1981, the family moved to Oklahoma City. The following year, at the tender age of four, Paulus accepted Christ in his life. The family later moved to New Orleans, LA, where he began his formal education. Paulus was a gifted musician. His music inspiration began at age seven, when he began piano lessons. Soon afterward he began playing trombone in the band at Harry Hurst Middle School. In 1991, he was diagnosed with cancer. As he recovered from cancer treatments, the Make-a-Wish Foundation arranged for him to travel to New York to meet his biggest musical inspiration, Sean "Puffy" Combs, along with other artists from Bad Boy Records. He attended Destrehan High School, graduating in 1996 and then continuing on to Miami University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering in 2001. Paulus returned home after graduation and obtained his first job at Soundcheck in Harahan, Louisiana, where he remained employed for more than five years. From there, he was hired as an audio engineer by Jesse Duplantis Ministries in Destrehan, where he worked until his death. Paulus also worked as a musical contractor for the Jazz Fest and other New Orleans-area musical events. At the same time, he was also working out of his own studio, Lighthouse Solutions, which he founded in 2002. Paulus' success began to flourish as a record-industry audio engineer when he embarked on his first big project through Republic Records. Paulus vigorously mixed and mastered Baby Boy da Prince's entire album including the hit single "The Way I Live," which went on to hit platinum on the Billboard charts and became a huge commercial success. Paulus also worked with many New Orleans artists such as Tokyo and Trombone Shorty; along with artists from across the country, including Fantasia, Wale, and Boosie and Latin sensations such as Nina Sky. From the moment Lighthouse Solutions opened, Paulus envisioned a place established for a business -- recording music -- but also rooted in his Christian faith, as a place where those who needed help could find safe haven. His door was always open to provide clothes, food or simply a couch to sleep on. In all that he accomplished in his too-short life, Paulus was motivated by his love for humanity and his sense of brotherhood for his fellow man. For those whose path he crossed, there was never a problem too big or small for him to accept as his own. While he was employed each day within the ministry, he lived his life inside and out of work as a true embodiment of Christ's order to serve one another in love. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Mary and Joe Boler of New Orleans, LA; daughter Imani Brown; two sisters, Lindsey Dorcele Boler-Mena (Edwin) of Algiers, LA, and Celisa Coleman (Stanley) of Collingville, MS; one brother, Tony Hodges of Meridian, MS; along with nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends, which would include his band of much-loved brothers. A celebration of life for Paulus "P" Boler will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Covenant Church, 1973 Ormond Blvd, Destrehan, LA 70047. Visitation 10am-11am. Service will begin at 11am. Entombment to follow at St. John Memorial Gardens in LaPlace, LA. Final care entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E Airline Hwy, Gramercy, LA 70052.
