After leaving high school, Donald went into the workforce as a cement finisher with Tonti Constructions and later became an entrepreneur and connoisseur in antiquities and junk collection at Duck's Auto Junkyard (Sanford style), possibly St. John's first African American owned pull-a-part business. Donald was always a jokester always telling jokes, poking fun, singing, and doing crazy little dances to make people laugh. He could very well have been a part of the Spinners singing group as he had a great singing voice, which he often shared in church services. He enjoyed laughing and joking with his family, he clowned around all the time. Donald called no one by their name, which was an honor. Many were blessed to be given names and if not "Bo" would suffice. A generous giver, Donald discreetly gave to many that were in need. Many were secret benefactors of his kindness. In addition, he always encouraged education through his famous line, "Don't be a dummy!" Duck was a father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He never met a stranger. He was the loving father of two daughters Dion Brown (Brandon) and Andrian Dickerson, born to a former union with Elaine Hazet-Gross. "May the work I have done speak for me. May the life that I have lived speak for me. May the service that I gave speak for me." On October 8, 1969, an angelic, charming, and healthy baby boy was born to Bishop Randell M. Brown and Apostle Dr. Joyce H. Brown. They looked at their little angel and decided to name him Andre' Martin Brown, which is derived from one of the first apostles, Andrew. Andre' was not only the light of his parents' life but also his grandparents, the late Roy Sr. and Blanche Brown and the late Gustave, Sr. and Laura Howard. One of his great joys was first becoming a big brother to Randy, LaWanda, DeLisa, and Corey. Growing up, he and his siblings shared an unshakeable bond. The love that he had for his family shape him into the man he grew up to be. As a child, he was taught to lean and depend on God and at the age of seven he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1976. He was baptized by the late Pastor Haskel Williams at Mt. Cavalry Baptist Church where he sung in the choir and played his trumpet. He attended East St. John High and graduated in 1987 and then attended Daspit Cosmetology College. It was in high school where he laid his eyes upon Sheila Lundy Brown. Later in life as many years passed, they united and became the dynamic duo, Cotton and She. They were united in holy matrimony on February 26, 1999, by Pastor Dr. Freddie L. Howard who is now the pastor of Mt. Cavalry Baptist Church then becoming the son-in-law of Kenneth and Paulette Lundy. United in love they were blessed with three loving sons, Bobby (Onica), Andre' Jr. (Mia), and Randell (Cecilla). He was the proud grandfather of Tristan, Madison, Kamron, Colin, Zane, Mya, and soon to be Cali. The uncle of Kenneth, Corey, Nia, Ma'Chai, DaMico, Mirelle, Lil Michael, Ty, Torah, Miracle, and Zoey. He is the brother-in-law of Cherie Lundy and Draneka Dabney, and the spiritual brother of Dr. Fontella (Michael) Baker, Breanna, and Arin. He was the Godchild of Minister Lionel (Sis. Lisha) Brown and Deforest Brown. He was the Godfather of Marvin, Jr., Lorenzo, Mykel, Tia, DaMico, and Lil Michael. Bro. Lee Oscar and Sis. Joann Palmer were devoted childcare providers to him. He was a humble and faithful servant throughout his servanthood. After his mother Apostle Brown was called to pastor, he, his wife, and children were the first to join Faith Healing and Deliverance Ministries Church where he worked diligently in ministry assisting his father and mother in whatever capacity was needed. He served his entire family and community in outreach ministry and later his favorite of all, his Facebook followers. After seeing his interest in his father's trade, concrete finishing, he worked diligently side by side with his father where he later was bestowed the ownership of the family business Brown's Concrete Work, and then becoming a part of Special Day Creations, the manager of Xperience Productions, and BAR Realty, along with his wife Sheila and children. Everyone that knows him knows that he loved to encourage, sing, dance, and impersonate his favorite singers, Prince, John Legend, Frankie Beverly, and New Edition. He enjoyed playing his bass and trumpet. He always danced to his own beat. In all his talents, his greatest gift was dressing. Every time he and his She would step out; it was like a red-carpet event. He was by far one of the coolest and best dress cats that we know. He could out dance anyone, anytime, anyplace. With his arms stretch wide, doing his signature Cotton B dance. We called it The Fly. But stretching his arms wide was not just a dance, it was his open invitation to his unconditional love, acceptance, and devotion. He was a treasure to all that crossed his path with his unforgettable spirit. Soft and pure like cotton, and that is where he got his nickname. Andre's life was made complete on July 21, 2021, at his home when God decided that he had shared him long enough and wanted him back all to himself. He was the devoted nephew of Minister Lionel Brown (Lisha), Blanche Fernandez, Sylvia Johnson, Kim Brown, Ernie Williams, and Thea Brown, Pastor Dr. Freddie L. Howard (Sis. Sherry), Mother Easter Howard, Mother Isabella Gerard, Prophetess Laura (John) Vampran, Pastor Dr. Deloris (Pastor Whitney) Millet, Rosemary (Otis) Perrilloux, Barbara (Louis) Gibbs, Sylvia (Ven) Afflalo, Curtis (Flor) Marchand, the late Burnell, Reno (Ethel), and Roy Brown, Gustave, Jr. (Delores), and Jack Howard, Earl Gerard, Sr., Gladys Joseph, Mildred (James) Dennis, Deforest Brown, Theresa Williams, Leroy Fernandez, and J.W. Johnson, and his devoted uncle and friend, the late Sydney Davis. He leaves to cherish the St. John the Baptist Parish community, his father and mother, his devoted wife, children and grandchildren, his brothers, and sisters, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. We will never forget, Andre' (Dre', Cotton, Cotton B., C.B., White Boy, Boi) Brown, Sr. Continue to Fly! To Everything There is a Season, and a Time for Every Purpose under Heaven. Celebration of life on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Choice International 516 E. Airline Hwy Laplace, LA 70068. On April 9, 1954, Peter Linton was the first of twin boys born to the union of Frank Linton, Jr. and Alma Ursin Linton in Reserve, LA. He was the third of 12 children: Ernest, Donald, Paul (his twin), Cleveland, Arthur, Vanessa, Jeanette, Lori, Ronald, Wanda, and Darlene. Bro. Linton was educated in the St. John the Baptist Parish School System and graduated from Leon Godchaux High School in May 1972. He married his wife of 44 years, Pamela Johnson Linton, on May 6, 1978. There were three children: Myesha Charnell, Peter Jr., and Tracy Lxchelle Linton. Myesha blessed him with three grandchildren: Mylah Tracy Joseph, Robert Coleman III, and Rhylan Tracy Coleman. Peter blessed him with Sammie Linton, his spoiled grand-dog. All four were his pride and joy! Bro. Linton was baptized at the Greater New Plymouth Rock Baptist Church by the late Rev. Ernest Taylor, Sr. He later joined First Community Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Ferdinand Gaines, Jr. and his current Pastor, Dr. Steven D. Beckham. He was employed by Bayside Grain Elevator, later named Continental Grain Elevator, until it closed. He later became employed with Cargill Inc. until his health failed. In 2005, this diehard Cleveland Browns fan was diagnosed with Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma. He bravely fought this treacherous disease with everything in him. Whether he was in Tulane Hospital or at a clinic appointment, he made it known that he was a Browns fan, not a New Orleans Saints fan! He boldly strutted his Browns paraphernalia at the Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge, a place that was renovated by New Orleans Saints Drew Brees. This diehard Browns fan reaped the benefits provided by a Saints player. What a guy! Bro. Linton has been on a journey that few can understand, unless they have walked for even a minute in his shoes. He and his family rallied together and kept their focus on the promises of God. No matter what it looked like; no matter what it felt like; Peter knew that God was the One in control. He knew that he was living a testimony that would one day encourage others to stand. Peter also knew that the battle didn't belong to him, it belonged to the Lord. On Thursday, June 2, Jesus "did" work it all out for him. He called him to rest from his labor! That's what it's all about, living one's life in such a way that when our obituary is read the listeners will experience joy and regard the contents of the obituary as "precious memories". This diehard Cleveland Browns fan is now among the SAINTS! Saints of God! He leaves to cherish his memories his Wife: Pamela Johnson Linton; Children: Myesha C. Linton (James Williams, Jr.) and Peter Linton, Jr.; Grandchildren: Mylah T. Joseph, Robert Coleman III, Rylan T. Coleman and Sammie Linton (grand dog); Godchildren: Jayia Rhian Bailey, Rysean A. Brown (Diashiki), and Ashley Linton; Siblings: Ernest James, Jr. (Betty Dennis), Donald James (the late Deborah Johnson James), Paul Linton (Marcella), Cleveland Linton, Arthur Linton (Lorna), Vanessa L. Thomas (the late Albert), Jeanette Ursin, Wanda J. McGuffy (Lorne, Sr.) and Darlene Ursin; Devoted Nieces: Ronunika U. Bailey and Yolanda M. Linton; Friends: L. J. McCoy (Delores) and Lawrence Taylor, Jr. (Ezetta); Devoted Caregivers: Rashedah Batiste, Randi Bowers, Anthony Christiana, Deacon Jerry Clark, Brooke Zeringue and the entire staff of Passages Hospice, and Sandra Glory and the entire staff of Audubon Retirement Village aka John J. Hainkel Jr. Home and Rehabilitation Center; In-Laws: Cynthia J. Bardell (Dallas), Tanya M. Johnson, Elaine J. Brown (Percy), Thaddeus Jackson (Joann), and Odrie J. Nicholas (Ronald). Bro. Linton was preceded in death by his Daughter: Tracy L. Linton; Parents: Frank Linton, Jr. and Alma Ursin Linton; Siblings: Lori Linton and Ronald Ursin; Grandparents: Ora Johnson, Herbert Ursin, Ethel Mae Stewart Linton, and Frank Linton, Sr.; and In-Laws: Rosetta L. Thomas Johnson, Lennix Johnson, Oscar Johnson, and Lennix Johnson Jr. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the First Community Antioch Baptist Church, 10860 Highway 3125, Lutcher, LA 70071 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Dr. Steven D. Burnell Joseph Perrilloux, Sr. (as he would say, Per-ril-loux - 2 R's, 2 L's) was born on December 2, 1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the third of four children to the union of Margaret and Anderson Perrilloux Sr. He was baptized at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Reserve. Later in his life, he became a member of Riverlands Christian Center. For 69 years, God allowed Burnell to touch so many lives before calling him home on September 23, 2022.
Affectionately known as "PeeWee," he was educated in the St. John Parish School system. Upon completion of his studies, Burnell entered the work field under the tutelage of his father. He began working at Godchaux-Henderson Sugar Refinery and remained there until the closure of the plant. From there, he became skilled in concrete masonry. That skill gained him several jobs on construction projects for Shaw Contractors and Cajun Industries, LLC.
From the moment you came in contact with Burnell, he was the epitome of a lasting impression. He loved to entertain his family and friends. Some of the things he would say would make you wonder. He could make you laugh until you are in stitches. Many of the conversations you never saw coming. Anyone who knew Burnell has an unforgettable story that can be told. Whether you like it or not, he did not bite his tongue…. NO FILTER at all. One of his favorite pastimes was cooking. He labeled himself "The Bayou Boiler" and dared anyone to outcook him in any manner. He always enjoyed good food…. Oh, you would know because he would tell you. He had an 'EXPLICITLY BLUNT' way of speaking his mind.
If you knew Burnell, you know how much he loved his family. He spent time with them as much as he could. You would find him being "the life of the party" at any family event. Watching sports or just socializing with Burnell was always an adventure. But his eyes were not big enough for his children and grandchildren. He was a proud father and an even prouder grandfather.
Burnell's memories will be forever cherished by his wife - Diane Perrilloux; 8 children - Tonya Phipps (Terell), Kammi Darensbourg, Briney, Dustin, Koriano (Veronica), Dominick, A'Joya Perrilloux and Malcolm (Latonya) Darensbourg (stepson), 22 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; siblings - Lois Frank, Wayne Perrilloux, and Marilyn Scott; father-in-law - Ernest Reynaud; sisters and brothers-in-law - Indria Perrilloux, Dena Burfict, Leon, Linda, Patricia, Tracy, Konrad, Bernard, Michael (Katrina), and David (Catherine) Reynaud; aunts and uncles - Juanita Cook, Ethel Perrilloux, Joyce Houston, Rosemary Pidgeon, Anita Clement, Lucinda Clement, Roy Fobb, Donald Ray Clement, Willie Clement, and Norwood Clark Sr; one Godchild - Kameron Darensbourg; devoted nephews - Kirk and Kyron Frank Sr; devoted friends - Paula Murray, Lennix Madere, and James Price; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Burnell was proceeded in death by his parents; children - Shinon, Burnell Jr, and Courtney Perrilloux; siblings - Anderson Perrilloux Jr and Wendell Morris; mother-in-law - Myrtle Reynaud; a host of aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
