Ernest “Buddy” Bailey passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the age of 82. He was a native and lifelong resident of LaPlace, LA. Buddy was a parishioner and usher at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He owned and operated various businesses throughout his lifetime, most recently Bailey’s World Famous Andouille and Bailey’s Cajun Creole Roux Mix.
Beloved husband of June Marie Decareaux Bailey for 61 years. Loving father of E. J. Bailey (Marcelle), Lisa B. Doming (Mark), and the late Ron and Joseph Bailey. Stephanie Denise Baloney-Pryor, a teaching assistant with the Title One program at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School in Reserve, died Saturday of a staph infection at Methodist Hospital. She was 38. Mrs. Baloney-Pryor was born in Garyville and lived in LaPlace. She was a graduate of Mount Healthy High School in Cincinnati and Southeastern Technical College in Metairie. She also attended Delgado Community College. Mrs. Baloney-Pryor was the founder and director of Victorious Communications. Survivors include her husband, Makale Pryor; two daughters, Gabrielle and Makelle Pryor; a son, Jared Pryor; her mother, Karen C. Baloney; her stepmother, Shelia Baloney; two sisters, Valerie B. Johnson of Columbus, Ga., and Helaine Baloney of Cincinnati; a brother, Courtney Baloney of Garyville; her grandmother, Ophelia Baloney; and a grandchild. Robert “Robbie” George Jones was born on November 10, 1961 in New Orleans, LA to the late Dorothy “Cat” Jones. Robbie cultivated a love for God at an early age, accepting Him as his Lord and Savior, serving faithfully at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Reserve, LA. He continued his Christian walk when moving to Kenner, LA. He was a faithful member of the New Mt. Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Matthews. Robbie was educated in the St. John School System, where he enjoyed playing bass drum in the band. He could remember for his infectious laugh. Robert met the love of his life, Wanda Carter in 1982. They united in Holy Matrimony on June 23, 1983, to that union three daughters were born: Marquita, Latoya, and Robyn Gayla Jones. On Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at his home in Kenner, LA, surrounded by his loved ones, God the Master mind decided his child needed rest and called him home. Warren “Kojak” Lennix, Sr. was born on September 18, 1960, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Godfrey Lennix and Ethel Johnson Lennix. He was a lifelong resident of Laplace, Louisiana. He was a 1980 graduate of East St. John High School in Reserve, LA. Following high school, he became employed by Odeco (Murphy Oil), where he retired after 25 years of service. He was also the owner of Lennix Freight Service. Warren later became employed by St. John the Baptist Parish where he worked his way up to Utilities Supervisor. He retired after devoting 14 years to helping the citizens and businesses of St. John Parish. Warren was called to eternal rest at the age of 62. He leaves to cherish his memories, 3 daughters: Keshana Daniels, Kaci Lennix (Robert) and Kira Lennix; 1 son: Warren Lennix, Jr. (Alexis). He is also survived by his siblings: Tyrone Lennix, Carla Lennix, and Dwayne Lennix; 6 grandchildren: Brennen, Addisyn, Aycen, Zoe, Gia, and Ari; aunts: Ruby Stewart, Delores Watkins Lennix, and Myrtle Alexander Lennix; 2 nephews: Erien, and Andrew; and 3 nieces: Kinya (Goddaughter), Angel, and Anjanee. Warren is also survived by his former spouse, Deione who is the mother of his four children whom they adored. Warren will be missed by Lady, his beloved Bully (companion animal), who laid by his side until his very last day. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wade Lennix. Warren was an avid drag racer and enjoyed participating and attending races often with his family and friends. He was a diehard Washington Commanders football fan, he repped his team win or lose. Warren enjoyed traveling, family vacations, and “guys trips” hosted by his son-in-law Robert Horton to cheer on the Ravens. Warren was a devoted grandfather and loved having fun with his grandkids, be it playing sports or picking them up and flying them around the house. He was all about having fun, laughter, positivity, and love. On January 5, 2023, God received His child to be with Him in perfect peace. Rion Poindexter was born on February 12, 1984, and was the only child of his loving parents Doris and Larry Poindexter. Rion resided in St. John Parish and was a graduate of East St. John High School. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University, and in June 2021 he proudly received his NCCER ELECTRICAL certification. Rion enjoyed cars, basketball, football, track, golf, and he was everyone's favorite storyteller. Rion was passionate about his work, very confident, tireless, and always the life of the party! Rion went on to save lives as a transplant organ donor of both kidneys, his liver, and his heart. He was also able to donate tissue cells for research. In 2016, Rion joined YAMMS a young adult outreach ministry of Riverlands Christian Center. His parents witnessed a positive change; one of peace, purpose, and servanthood. Rion leaves treasured memories to be cherished with his parents Larry and Doris Poindexter; his children London, Ragan Renae, Rhian Monae; his bonus children Makayla & Maurice; his loving girlfriend Dianna Matthews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Rion will always be lovingly remembered and sorely missed. Ma'Zon Malik Thomas was born on January 6, 2016, at Tulane Women's Hospital to Michael Thomas and Tajsha Howard. Ma'Zon attended both day care and pre-school at Garden of Eden Christian Academy, where he graduated from pre-school in June 2021. He also attended Lake Pontchartrain Elementary School and Emily C. Watkins Elementary School. Ma'Zon enjoyed being active on Tik Tok, watching You-Tube movies, playing football and basketball, and any activity that allowed him to be outside. He played football with the St. John Red Warriors until his brief illness and subsequent death. On November 11, 2021, Ma'Zon transitioned from this life, as we know it, to a life that is filled with joy everlasting. Jermani Germanika Thompson, a 26-year-old vibrant young woman was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. “Jerm” as she was affectionately called was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, niece, friend, and incredible basketball player. Jermani’s story started October 6, 1995. She was the only daughter of Angela Montgomery Dorsey and Eddie Major, Sr., in Laplace, LA, at River Parishes Hospital. She was reared in the River Parishes and matriculated through the public and private school systems of St. John the Baptist Parish. Jermani was a 2014 graduate of East St. John High School. Jermani’s exemplary skills in basketball were evident from a very early age. She loved the game, and the game loved her back. As a result of her dedication and commitment to her craft, she excelled on the court and was able to display her talent and abilities for multiple teams on various levels including biddy basketball, recreation, AAU, Allstar, as well as middle and high school. Jermani’ s awards and accomplishments were many. These included several Most Valuable Player awards, the Reserve Christian School Varsity Girls Basketball Coach’s award, and the Reserve Christian School Varsity Basketball Top Defensive Player award. Jermani also helped lead the East St. John High School Lady Cat Basketball team in becoming District 8-5A Co-Champions. Jermani achieved the next level of excellence as she was recruited and played at Hesston College in Hesston, Kansas. It was there that Jermani earned the Degree of Associate of Arts in 2016. She furthered her academic and athletic journey at Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, Mississippi. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2019. Although Jermani ultimately dreamed of playing in the WNBA, life took her in a different direction. She was most recently employed with GAT Airline Ground Support. While Jermani’ s death has left her family and friends in disbelief and with an enormous void in their hearts, everyone is thankful for her life. Her heart was big. Her smile and laughter were infectious. She lived life to the fullest and her lover for her family was unmatched! Jermani was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by so many. Myrtle Farlough Victor, 88 years of age; a native of Mt. Airy, LA. Resided at the time of her illness & transitioning peacefully to the father, under the care, in the home of her daughter (Jacqueline) of Hammond, LA., until March 22, 2022. Myrtle was born February 6, 1934; to the late Earl James Farlough, Sr. & Florence Driver Farlough; She was reared by her stepmother Sylvia Farlough, after the passing of her mother. Myrtle accepted the Lord at an early age, under the Pastorship of Reverend JJ Farlough Sr. of St. John Baptist Church Mt. Airy, LA. Where she was a devoted and committed member, serving in various areas of ministry. During her illness, she remained faithful, serving God under the leadership of her daughter, Apostle Dr. Jacqueline Victor “Fruit of the Righteous Ministry” where she remained faithful. Myrtle was a licensed practical nurse for over 40 years, using her skills and abilities to help others; worked at various healthcare facilities; she was also an entrepreneur. Marion Elise Watkins Ward was born on October 30, 1944 to the late James and Lorenza Watkins in Laplace, Louisiana. Marion was predeceased by her parents James Cornealius Watkins and Lorenza Gabriel Watkins. She was the sister of the late Nelson, Clarence, Sterling, Azelia Fobb, Hilda Batiste, Audrey King and Barbara Julien and She is survived by her siblings Nellie Farlough, Betty Ann Sonny, Joyce Taylor, and Cornelius. She was one of twelve siblings. She was married to the late Paul Schnyder Sr. and in that union, they were blessed with three children: Darlene Dean (Patrick) of Los Angeles, CA. Paula Henderson (Wendell “Brick”) of Laplace and Paul Schnyder Jr. (Ingrid) of Slidell, LA. She later married the late Reverend Raymond Ward and moved to Los Angeles. Marion was a steadfast grandmother to Demetrius Respress, Kearan Dean, Collin Dean,Morgan Dean, Chase Henderson, Cole Henderson, and Ke’Erra Williams Davis. A loving great grandmother to Layah Respress, Neriah Watley, Wyatt Williams Watley, Angel Denet and Kamari Dean. Her memory lives on forever and she leaves to cherish precious memories with her children, grandchildren, great grand-children, siblings Nellie Farlough, Betty Ann Sonny, Joyce Taylor, and Cornelius Watkins. Devoted God children: Durwin Farlough and Leo Schnyder. She will be missed by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and family. She was blessed with many talents holding various occupations including administrative work, Dietary staff position and her passion job as a Caretaker. Following her retirement, Marion devoted her life to her passion of Caretaking and sitting with the elderly. She was the one known for always smiling and making you laugh. Lucinda Porter Wilkens, affectionately known as "Cindy," departed this life on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at her residence in LaPlace surrounded by her loving family. The birth of Jayson Michael Williams Sr was planned in the mind of God before he was conceived by his parents Percy Williams and Vader Fobb-Wilson. God knew the date of his birth November 1, 1984, and the date of his death November 8, 2022, in Lutcher, La. Jayson was baptized at an early age at Rising Star Baptist Church in Laplace, La., by the late Rev. Clarence Alvis Sr. He later moved his membership to First Community Antioch Baptist Church in Lutcher, La., under the leadership of his uncle the late Rev. Ferdinand Gaines Jr and continued under the leadership of Dr. Steven D. Beckham. Jayson was a 2003 graduate of East St. John High School. Affectionately given the nickname Jay-Dubb by his peers, he truly left his marked on everyone he encountered while walking the halls at ESJH. While at East St. John Jayson actively participated in the Beta Club, Science Club, and ESJH Fellowship Christian Athletic Club. Jayson was also a part of ESJHS football program and received many awards. He graduated as a member of the Top 20 in his graduating class. After graduating from ESJH Jayson received a football scholarship to attend Alcorn State University. Jayson’s personality gained him many friends during his college career. It was at Alcorn that he was given the nickname “Banner.” However, Jayson’s greatest blessing, occurred on November 4, 2011, when God blessed him and Brionika Taylor with a son, who was given his father’s name Jayson Michael Williams Jr. Jayson Sr, and Jayson Jr affectionately called one another Da-dee. Jayson Jr was truly the apple of his father’s eyes. Jayson enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, hanging out with his friends and family, riding the 4-wheeler with his son, but most of all spending time with his son. In high school Jayson was voted “Most likely to party on a school night.” Jayson was the life of any party on any occasion. He never met a stranger that did not fall in love with his “living life” attitude. Jayson was gainfully employed by ADM in Reserve, La, until the time he passed. Jayson leaves to cherish his and celebrate his memory his son Jayson Michael Williams Jr. His parents Percy Williams and Vader Fobb Wilson, sisters; Kenya Wilson and Ryshique Williams. Three nieces Deznee, Dante and Denim. A devoted fiancée Antoinette Jones. He unconditionally participated in the rearing of Chris Nicholas which included being a loving grandfather figure to Carter Nicholas. He was also a loving father figure to JaKyria, JaKeiya, and Jameire Taylor. Aunts: Claudia and Peggy Fobb, Linda Bailey, and Katherine Williams. Richard Dale Wolfe, Sr., a lifelong resident of St.John the Baptist Parish, was born on April 11, 1940, to the late Henry P. Wolfe Sr., and Lithia Etienne Wolfe in New Orleans, LA. He was reared in the Catholic religion and attended Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church. He graduated from Fifth Ward High School. As a young man, he was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Ecol Petroleum, and Marathon Petroleum. Later in life, after serving his constituents for over three decades, this “man of the people” had the distinction of retiring from both the St. John the Baptist Parish’s School Board and Parish Council. On Thursday October 27, 2022, at the age of 82, this father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and great friend to many, peacefully passed away surrounded by his children. Those left to mourn his presence include his children by first marriage to June Gray Wolfe: Richard Dale Wolfe Jr. (Eileen), Camille Wolfe Oubre (Anthony), Regina Wolfe Burke (Royal), and Patrice, Kim, and Arnold Wolfe. Terrence, Darren, and Endya Wolfe, the offspring from his second marriage to Melba Crawley Wolfe. He also leaves to mourn Carlotta Franklin, Keithen Nelson (Rebecca), Ayesha D.
