She is survived by her husband, Jessie Courville, their children, Patricia Shanahan (Dale), Pamela Courville (Dave Coyle), David Courville (Donna), Jessie Courville (Jimmy Melton), and Mark Courville (Michelle); grandchildren Renee', Rachelle, Jessica, Nicole, Sissy, Tracey, Stephanie, Victoria, and Katelyn; and great grandchildren Chelsea, Gabrielle, Lance, Jeffery, Rebecca, Hannah, Tyler, Haven, Jacob, Bill, Loghan, and Lily. Sis was a fun-loving person who enjoyed camping, cooking, and fishing in Grand Isle with her family and friends. She was proud of her extensive family, and enjoyed spending time with them whenever she could. Shirley is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by those who knew her best, her family and friends. He was a house painter and had painted almost all signs that can be seen in St John the Baptist Parish. He married a Miss Josephine Walters in 1857 and from this union came from a large family.
His wife, a victim of yellow fever, had preceded him in death by a few months.

We could look to Kirk for an example of perseverance and inner strength, as he continued to fight battles in health and limitations that would crush many of us who don't have physical or mental disabilities. His ability to overcome challenges was truly a wonder to witness. Kirk's strength was found in the way he kept on going, day after day, through the best of times and through the hardest of times.

DOTTOLO, PAUL ANTHONY - A resident of Springfield, he died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at his home after an extended illness. Family and friends were welcomed to a public visitation which was held on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Robert Perry, upon request of the deceased. Interment took place in St. Peter's Cemetery, Reserve, following the funeral mass. Survived by six siblings, Susan Dottolo Zewe, Hammond, Peter J. "Sonny" Dottolo Jr., Covington, Ronald Mark Dottolo, Mandeville, and Elizabeth Dottolo Pugh, Loretta Lynn Dottolo and Dawn Rachael Dottolo, all of Ponchatoula; and nine nieces and nephews. Duhe and Mildred Lemoine Drinkhaus. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Alexandra, Charrell, Rebekah, Corbyn, Thomas, and Daniel. He was a Meat Cutter by trade, but his true passion was gardening.

Last Tuesday afternoon, June 9th, funeral services were held for J. Arnold Elfer at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with interment in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Elfer, a native of St. John Parish and a resident of Reserve for a number of years, was 46 years old and is survived by his widow, four sons, Arnold, Douglas, Whitney and Herman, and three daughters, Mildred, Shirly and Doris;
his aged mother, Mrs. Evariste Elfer, and three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Cambre of Reserve, Mrs. B. Webre of Laplace and Mrs. Ursin Duhe of Montz.
