Casanova Cemetery

Joseph Curtis Casanova, a son of Jacob and Martha Casanova, put the Casanova Cemetery next to the old Casanova house that he built. This photo of the house was taken by Jo Ann Morgan, granddaughter of Joseph Curtis Casanova. Jo Ann hosts a Casanova family reunion on the first Saturday in August every year in Hammond, Louisiana.

 

The following two photos show the entire (small) cemetery (and the old house's new satellite dish). These photos were taken by David Patrick Murphy, great great grandson-in-law of Jacob and Martha Casanova.

The information below that lists the names of folks buried in this cemetery was originally obtained from the Internet at http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/tangipahoa/cemeteries/casanova.txt. The given directions were a little vague, but you will find the cemetery behind the old Casanova house (photo above) at the point on Wesley Road where it turns sharply to the right. David Patrick Murphy and Jo Ann Morgan have provided some additional family information (shown in red) and have included photos (taken by Murphy) of a couple of the headstones.
