BRIDGES FAMILY
I am researching my great-great grandfather Willie BRIDGES who orginated from Amite, LA. I understand from a 92 year old relative that Willie married a Margaret GOOD BARRETT near the end or after the Civil War. She ran a boarding house for railroad men and I understand he worked the railroad. They had 3 children:
*Cora Bridges (later married a HANLEY and moved possibly to Mobile by the 1920's);
*Pink Bridges (no other information on him);
*and my great-greatdfather Joseph Nimrod Bridges.
Joseph Nimrod Bridges married Bridgit Allin KILLY or KELLY either in Amite, LA or Meridan, MS where they later lived. Both were 23 when they married. They had 6 children:
*# 1 Margaret Mary Bridges (married name PILGRIM) born 1888 in Meridan, MS had 1 daughter, Martha Ellen Pilgrim (married name TARTT) born 1907 and is still alive in Grenada, MS. Margaret Mary died 1971 in Grenada.;
*# 2 Joseph Kindell Bridges (my grandfather...named after his father and the family doctor, Dr. Kindell) who was born in 1890 in Meridan and died in 1939 nears Marks, Quitman Co. MS. He married a Willie Mae HARRIS of Holly Springs.
*# 3 Anthony (Tony) who as an adult lived in Laurel. He also worked in the Fire Department. He had 1 son James Roscoe Bridges.
*# 6 Willie (who lived as an adult in Holly Springs and had a son named Thomas)
*# 4&5 a set of twin girls who died in infancy Mrytle and Mildred OR Mrytle and Almeda.
Bridgit died early in life,soon after Willie was born. J.N. later remarried a Maude Alice ------? and had 3 more children:
* # 1 Birdie Alice Bridges (later married a Bishop, then a Gardener. She had one son I know of Joseph Nimrod Bishop born circa 1922.
* # 2 & 3 were twin boys. Joseph died in infancy. His twin brother died at birth.

SURNAMES: BRIDGES, GOOD, McCANN. BARRETT
Kentwood and Amite, LA
I am seeking information on a Willie (William) Bridges and a Maggie Good. I know they were married around 1859. The only wedding records I find between a Bridges and Good was between William C. Bridges and a Elizabeth Good.
According to a 92 yr. old relative, Maggie and Will had three children: Pink, Cora, and Joe N.(Nimrod). They were later separated (sometime after the Civil War & according to birthdates after 1864). Will married (woman is unknown) again and had another son. Will later died from old war injuries. I found a 1938 obituary (Joe N.'s) that lists a sister, Cora Hanley of Whistler, Alabama as a survivor
Maggie later married a Charlie McCann and had three more children: Charlie, Bridget, and Mame. According to this relative, Charlie worked for the railroad, was a nice looking man and made good money. Maggie found out women were chasing Charlie so they separated. He died shortly after this. I have a 1938 obituary (Joe N.'s) that lists a sister, Mame Donley of California as a survivor.
Then Maggie married a Will Barrett. They had one child, who died at birth. Most of the time Will Barrett was good to Maggie. Then he took to drinking and tried her, so one of the Bridges boys told him to he had to leave. Maggie did not marry again.
Anyone with any information regarding these individuals, please contact me!

HELP! I have traced what appears to be credible lines from Jefferson Davis MCDANIEL (b. Feb. 10, 1861 Tangipahoa Parish, LA, d. Mar. 19, 1905) m. Leona Cutrer, up to James Monroe McDaniel (b. June 20, 1823 Pike Co. MS, d. Jan 14, 1894, Tangipahoa Parish, LA) m. Rebecca THOMPSON, up to John (Jonathon) McDaniel (b. after 1794 in GA or SC, d. Jan. 28, 1854 Pike Co. MS ) m. Elizabeth MCELVEEN (b. SC) (or John McDonald m. Margaret McElveen June 14, 1814 in Marion Co. MS). The problem begins here. John's father was either (1) Alexander McDaniel (McDonald) m. Mary ? or Mary Whitehead from Nelson or Davies Co. KY or (2) Daniel McDaniel (McDonald) m. Elizabeth Thorpe from Orangeburg, Salisbury or Abbeville District SC and then to Talbot GA. Daniel's son, Daniel Jr., did settle in Pike Co. MS and his younger brother's name was John.
John McDaniel m. Elizabeth McElveen is also reported in GenServ OLIO6MA as possible son of W. Ryley McDaniel (d. 1868 in Pike Co. MS ) and Etherlder McDaniel, but tht appears unlikely! LDS FamilySearch, Ancestory.com, and GenServWINC&MP records show John McDaniel (b, 1772 GA) with a brother born in Jackson, GA and parents Alexander (b. 1742, Nelson Co. Ky) and Elizabeth Johnston (b ca. 1744 GA) but no info on who John married or when he died.
I tend to believe the Kentucky based ancestory is a good choice to then tie back easily many generations. Howecer, the SC, GA, MS, LA line seems more probable.
Can someone help?
