I am looking for information on my father, Frank (no middle name) SANDERS
I have very little info on his early years. He listed his birthday as
March 2, 1900 and also March 2, 1902. He said he was from a large family and ran
away from home at age 15 and joined the Navy during WW1. He was married in 1932? and had a
son named Frank Jr. I met Frank Jr. for the first time last year, after always
being told he had died during the Korean War. My father married my mother Gertrude
Mae JOHNSON in New London Ct. in 1944.On my fathers Marriage licence to his
first wife the best man was listed as Arley Sanders possibly from Arcola La.
I have some additional info on his parents. Charles ( Cass ) Sanders ( b. about 1862 ) married Georgia VERNON ( b. about 1870 ) on 1/3/1889. Both of Charles parents were born in La. In the 1910 Census they had 8 children listed as Bingo s 17 Farm Laborer, Mammie d 14 Farm Laborer, Jesse s 12 Farm Laborer, Frank s 9 ( possibly my father ), Toby s 7, Busby s 5, Shadieux s 3, Sarah d 3
Not much info, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Giovanni Calogero MONTELEONE was born in Petralia, Sottana, Sicily
06/08/1880. He married Rosaria Lucia CIMO (12/13/1878 - 03/20/1931).
Carlo and Rosa departed Palermo, Sicily on June 9th, 1901 on the ship SS
Burgundia. The crossing took 23 days arriving at the port of New Orleans
on 07/02/1901. Monteleone was hired for a farming job in Bowie,
Louisiana. After a couple of years and the birth of two sons, Philip and
Sam, they moved to Hammond and opened a Grocery Store. They had a
successful business until the depression hit. Carlo and Rosa gave so much
credit to needy families who never paid that they eventually had to go
back to farming to survive. At that time, they had five children. They
did well again and after having five more children, they bought a 27 acre
farm on Minnesota Avenue in Hammond off Range Road. Carlo and Rosa's
daughter, Josie Monteleone MERCANTE still resides.
Carlo, Rosa and all the children farmed for a while and then, Carlo went
to work for the Strawberry Association as an office worker and also, as
an inspector for Ben CUSIMANO. After about 12 years, he went back to
farming.
Rosa died March 20, 1931, and Carlo remarried six months later to Rosa
RUSSO (Russo is her married name from prior husband) from Harvey,
Louisiana. Rosa Russo had two sons, Guy and Salvatore Russo. Carlo and
Rosa Russo had a son together, Joseph.
Carlo died July 19, 1944.
1. Rosa's brother, Giuseppe Cimo came to port of New Orleans on ship SS
Algeria on October 20, 1902. What became of him and who are his
descendants (or ancestors if I'm lucky)?
2. What was Rosa Russo's maiden name and who was her husband, father of
Guy and Salvatore.
3. Any details on Joseph Monteleone, his wife and children?
Thanks,
