Hi!
I am doing research on two families. One is the Allen Family from Roseland La. and Boutwell Family from Amit. Then called Amitcity.
ALLEN- Jeannie Pearl Allen born March 20,1929. She and her family lived in a farm outside of Roseland, and her mother was ill and bed ridden. That is all I currently know.
BOUTWELL- William Tassy, Mary Annie, or Nancy Boutwell. They were also from around Amitcity. They are also intwined with the Cutrer Family which is in the Amitcity Cemetary off of Hwy 55.
I would appreciated any help. I am at a stand still at this time. Thank you very much
for any information you might have. Take care.

Desire information on following members of BARDWELL family:
Gincey M. BARDWELL, according to BOYES family Bible, born in 1815 in Tennessee. Married Clark WHITE in 1833 in Lawrence County, MS. Died 1895, possibly in Tangipahoa Parish, LA. I believe her to be a daughter of Solomon BARDWELL of Lawrence County, Mississppi, Arkansas, Tyrrell County, NC, and Massachutsetts. BOYES family Bible lists death of a Sarah T. BREWER in 1879 in Tangipahoa Parish. Sarah T. BREWER was Sarah T. McLeod, widow of Solomon BARDWELL and John W. BREWER.
Francis Marion BARDWELL born in the 1830s in Lawrence County, MS. He lived in Pike County, MS, St. Tammany Parish, LA. In 1876, he was murdered in Hammond, LA. Left descendants in Pike County, MS, and Tangipahoa Parish, LA. Francis was a son of Ezekiel BARDWELL and grandson of Solomon BARDWELL of Lawrence County, MS.

Hello,
I am researching several black and mulatto families that lived in Hammond, LA. I am hoping you can help.
My great grandmother was named Bernice BERRY and was born in Hammond in 1901 (she died here in Chicago in 1975). Her parents were Theresa HALSEY and Aaron Berry. I do not know anything about Berry except he is shown on one census (1900) and Theresa is a widow in 1910. My grandmother's bible listed Aaron's mother as named Sallie. My grandmother said Theresa Halsey Berry worked for a person who owned a railroad. One of my questions is what does this mean, owning a railroad? She was found on the 1910 and 1920 census living next to and with a family names Pontel. Does this ring any bells? Her daughter, my great grandmother Bernice Berry was the governess for the PONTELL's daughter. Theresa Halsey was the daughter of Zachariah Halsey and a women named Mary. Research has shown her last name as Byrd, Boyd, Williams, Latremore (in
fact she is listed on her marriage certificate to Zachariah as Mary
Latremore). Mary was previously married to a man named Charles LOCKMAN and had three children by him, Shack, Lucy and Matilda. Family legend said that Mary was Irish and Zachariah was either black, mulatto,or Indian. The
census lists him as Black in one and mulatto in another. I do not have a clue. This is all I know abut these people. Can any of you assist me in this research?
Does any of these names sound familiar? TIA.

Please, I am searching for evidence of marriage of Henry McELVEEN to Mary WILLIAMS prior to 1850. BOUTWELL, Chauncy: I am seeking information about the family history, life, and death of Chauncy. I know that he was born in Copiah County, Mississippi, around the year 1887(obtained from the 1910 census soundex of the region). Various records show his presence in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, where he married Edith Mixon around 1932. Chauncy's parents were James M. and Laura Boutwell.
MIXON, Walter:
I am looking for information concerning the family history of Walter Mixon. The 1920 census of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, lists him as a 38 year old father of seven children(Charles, Sherman, Annie, Joseph, George, Edith, and Vemma). His wife's name was Marsie Mixon (Leach). Walter was the son of Louisiana born parents, but their names have not yet been discovered. As Walter was probably born in 1882, I will not find any census information about his childhood because of the loss of the 1890 census. I would appreciate any information concerning the birth, death, and life of Walter Mixon, his wife Marsie, and that of his daughter -my grandmother- Edith. The only information I have about her was that she married a man named Chauncy Boutwell from Mississippi around the year 1932.

children I think, among them Herman and Elick Blount. Lively died around 1916-1918 I think and Mary Louise's
