Funeral services were conducted in Winnfield at the Southern Funeral Home Thursday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. H. H. McBride and the Rev. Alwin Stokes in charge. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mr. Boze, who will be remembered by Winnfield citizens as the aged man with the long white beard, who walked with one crutch, had lived at the home of Mrs. Fannie Martin for the past 11 years. He will be especially remembered by the Winn Parish Enterprise staff as the donor of $200 to the Winn Parish Rec Cross drive seven or eight years ago. During the drive he visited The Enterprise office at the noon hour and left $100 with an Enterprise employee for the Red Cross, but would not tell his name. The next day at the same time he visited the Enterprise and left another $100 for the Red Cross. A Winn Parish Welfare Relief client, his donation constituted two-thirds of the total parish donations of that particular drive. A native of Mississippi, he was reared and educated in New Orleans, was employed as a bookkeeper for a cotton brokerage firm there; later served as sheriff or deputy sheriff or Red River Parish. His wife was a native of Verda, La., which accounted for his presence in this section. His only known relative, a sister, died in California several years ago.
