L. L. Burnum, 74, Retired Forest Employee, Dies

Luther L. Burnum, 74 year old resident of the Bethlehem Community and native
of Winn Parish, died at 6 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 1964 in a local hospital.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Bethlehem Baptist Church
with Rev. J. T. Williams officiating, assisted by Rev. Clyde Parker and Rev.
Clarence Bates.  Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of
Southern Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were D. Canerday, Gerald Canerday, Bobby Canerday, J. D. Canerday,
J. T. Burnum, and Joel Burnum.

Mr. Burnum was a retired U. S. Forest Service employee.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillie C. Burnum; one son, Willie Burnum,
Rt. 3, Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Prentice Cole, Joyce; two brothers, Joe
Burnum, Jonesboro, and Perry Burnum, Hodge; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Blake,
Calvin, Mrs. Lee Bedgood, Jonesboro; four grandchildren, and one great
grandchild.
