Three Are Killed In Auto Wreck on Saturday A. M.

2 Other Persons Injured When Cars Collide at Tannehill

Three Negroes were killed, a fourth injured, and Ellis Higgs, a white man,
received bruises and a cut on the arm in an automobile crash at Tannehill, on
the Dodson road, at 2 o'clock last Saturday morning.

The dead were Pearl Davis, wife of Willie "Cooksie" Davis of Winnfield and
driver of one of the cars, and Yvonne and Willie Davis, Jr., children of the
Negro man and woman.

The accident occurred when the Davis car, which was returning from Dodson,
crashed into the automobile driven by Higgs as he was turning left into the
graveled road at Tannehill. Both cars were badly damaged in the collision.

Two of the Negroes, Pearl and Yvonne Davis, were killed instantly and the six-
weeks old Negro baby died about six hours later.

No charges had been filed up to Thursday of this week, in connection with
the wreck.
