Mother of Mrs. Alene Bates Dies In Many

Mrs. Annie Bell Free, 73, of Many, died Thursday, February 24, 1972. 

Widow of the late Leroy Free, she was a native of Sabine Parish and a member
of the Progress Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Springridge Baptist
Church with the Rev. Allen Dupree and the Rev. Jeff Tidwell officiating. 
Burial was in the Springdale Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Elmer N. Free of Natchitoches; three daughters,
Mrs. Joe R. Byles of Many, Mrs. Alene Bates of Calvin, and Mrs. Ruby Roberts
of Hobbs, N. M.; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Mantooth of Shreveport and Mrs.
Lucille Murphy of Mansfield; 10 great grandchildren.
