Sister Of Mrs. Viola Milam Dies In Alex.

Mrs. Ella Stone Hawthorne, 77, of Alexandria, died in the Baptist hospital
July 4. She had been ill only a few days. Mrs. Hawthorne was the wife of Judge
J. W. Hawthorne, retied District Judge. She was a native of Winn Parish but
had lived in Alexandria a number of years.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Troy Wheeling, pastor
of Calvary Baptust Church, where she was a member, officiating. Burial was in
Greenwood Memorial Park.

Survivors are her husband, Judge Hawthorne; one sister, Mrs. Viola Milam,
Jonesboro; two nieces, Mrs. Mabel Gatlin and Mrs. Lloyd Parker, Jonesboro; two
nephews, J. B. Milam, Jr., Ruston, and Ott G. Milam, Tullos.
