Mr. and Mrs. Sam Ingram, former residents of Winnfield, were burned to death when their home in Minden was wrecked by an explosion of gas about 6 o'clock last Thursday evening. Mr. Ingram had entered the kitchen, struck a match, when the explosion, probably caused by leaky gas connections, occurred. Both he and Mrs. Ingram escaped, but she rushed back into the house to get something she had left, was overcome by the flames, and burned to death. Mr. Ingram received his burns in trying to rescue her. Mr. and Mrs. Ingram lived in Winnfield several years before moving to Minden and had many friends here. While here Mr. Ingram was employed by the T. & G. Railway Co.,; he was the uncle of Clifton and Abner Ingram who were connected with the Winnfield Drug Co.
