J. S. Joyce, Pres. T. & G. Railway, Dies in Hot Springs

A. L. Smith, vice-president and general manager of the Tremont & Gulf Railway,
and W. T. Murray, vice-president and general manager of the Tremont Lumber
Company of Rochelle, left Wednesday afternoon for Clinton, Iowa, to attend the
funeral of J. S. Joyce of Chicago.

Mr. Joyce, president of the Tremont & Gulf Railway, died in Hot Springs, ark.,
last Monday.  He made frequent visits to Winnfield in the interest of his
railroad.  His brother, David Joyce, owner of the Tremont Lumber Co., and for
whom the David Joyce Airport was named, died several years ago.
