Obituary: Cornelia Martin Luther, 1906, Winn Parish, LA Submitted by Nora Martin, PO Box 1871, Jena, LA 71342 ********************************************** Copyright. All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** DIED: At the home of her parents near Couley, La., September 28, 1906, Mrs. Nena Luther, after an illness lasting through several weeks, which she bore with much fortitude. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs. E. P. Martin, and was born May 19, 1882. She was married to Mr. A. J. Luther December 22, 1904, and their home was one of happiness and love. She joined the Couley Protestant Methodist Church in August 1906 and lived a consecrated Christian life until her death. She leaves a devoted husband, a sweet little child, father, mother, seven brothers, three sisters and a number of relatives and friends to mourn her untimely loss. But grieve not, dear friends, for we know that her spirit is resting sweetly in the place that the Great God has prepared for his people. She has gone only for a while. It will be only a short space of time when you will be reunited with her in that heavenly home where no parting or sorrows shall ever be known. A Friend. Note: Nena was buried in Couley Double Churches Cemetery, Couley, La. This is a clipping from a newspaper with no date and the newspaper is not identified.
