Mrs. Ida Mooty, Former Resident of Verda, Dies

Mrs. Ida Mooty, 93, died October 22, in Ragley, La., at the home of her
daughter.  She was a former resident of Verda.  Funeral services were held at
Union Hill Baptist Church Friday, October 21, conducted by Rev. Verne
Fletcher, superintendent of Acadia Baptist Academy.

Mrs. Mooty was born September 23, 1859 in Columbia County, Arkansas.  She was
the mother of 15 children, seven of whom preceded her in death.  She made her
home with her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Fletcher, at Verda, until recently when
they moved to Ragley.

Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Fletcher, Ragley; Mrs. Lena
McBride, Mrs. Carrie Hosner, Montgomery; Mrs. Cassie Enloe, El Dorado, Ark.;
Mrs. Anna Boyd, Camden, Ark.; Mrs. Inez Jones, New Orleans; two sons, W. H.
Mooty, Norphlet, Ark.; M. C. Mooty, Sr., Montgomery; 45 grandchildren, a host
of great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
