Mrs. Alice Smith, 74, Dies; Burial To Be Friday

Alice M. Smith, 74, wife of P. W. Smith of Sikes, died Tuesday afternoon, May
17, 1966 in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness.

She was a native of Allen, Miss., and was a member of Sikes Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Calvary Baptist Church near
Winnfield with Reverends Willie James and Charlie Christie officiating. 
Burial will be in the church cemetery, under direction of Southern Funeral
Home of Winnfield.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband; three sons, George M. McCartney of
Tullos, W. J. McCartney of susanville, Calif., and David McCartney of Long
Grove, Ill.; two step-sons, Stanley J. Smith of Sikes, and J. W. Smith of Oak
Grove; a daughter, Mrs. A. E. Hartiens of Lafayette; two brothers, Dave Morse
of Joyce and Jack Morse of Union Church, Miss.; and a sister, Mrs. A. W.
Cockerham of Joyce.
